The PYO Farm Stand is open every Saturday during our community volunteer times from 1-5p.
Since April we've had a unique "Farm Stand" experience at WWF and it's been a huge hit! Continuing with our goal of educating the next generation of farmers, gardeners and homesteaders in San Diego----and engaging all San Diegans with their food system----we're opening up our farm even further to allow you and your friends and family to come harvest produce to enjoy at home. Not only can you volunteer in the field to help grow your food---now you can harvest some to take home and enjoy too!
Come alone or bring a companion, volunteer if you wish, and pick up some of the freshest produce you can get. Just ask a staff member to show you what is available, and we'll be happy to demonstrate proper harvesting techniques. We'll also provide any tools necessary for the harvest such as a knife or harvest bucket. In order to reduce waste, we encourage you to bring your own bag.
This summer you'll find an incredible array of produce, such as: beets, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, squash, beans, lettuce, kale, and collard greens! You'll also find delicious fresh herbs, like: dill, cilantro, parsley, mint sage, thyme, rosemary, and oregano gracing our fields with their wonderful scents, and ready to harvest. Taste-testing encouraged!
Other items such as eggs from our pastured hens, who are let free range every day and fed only organic veggies and certified organic grains, will be available at the stand, along with dried herbs (Communitea), vegetable & herb starts for your garden, seeds, and other specialty items.
Books from our Bookstore will also be for sale.
We'll try to post availability lists here as often as possible. Variety will keep expanding as summer continues. Contact us with any questions.
