Get Involved & Learn:

There are many options for those interested in learning more about farming and gardening. Below is a list of several options both at the farm and elsewhere in San Diego, either for classes or open volunteering.
  • Wild Willow Farm & Education Center: Open volunteer days Saturdays (RSVP recommended), workshops, internships, potlucks, special events, and group visits & tours.
  • Seeds at City (City College Urban Farm): Volunteer 9-noon Tuesdays & Saturdays. Classes in sustainable urban agriculture are now being offered at City College in addition to the 3x/year apprenticeship program.
  • Victory Gardens San Diego (VGSD): Individual classes & series (including at Wild Willow), and garden builds around San Diego.
  • Regional Garden Education Center Classes: developed as a program of VGSD, are part of a much bigger project called Healthy WorksSM, a countywide initiative making systems and environmental changes promoting wellness and addressing the nationwide obesity epidemic. Classes are offered in Basic Gardening (Gardening 101), How to Start and Manage Community Gardens (Gardening 201) and How to Start and Sustain a School Garden. You can find out more or apply for these free classes by clicking this link.
A project of San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project (501[c]3): educating, cultivating, and empowering sustainable food communities in San Diego.
